Fargo Force Off to a Great Start

The Fargo Force is already two games into the season with one home game under it’s belt. Success on home ice was evident in a win over Lincoln (5-2) in a split series to be continued this Friday. The team took to the road after their initial win of the season to compete in South Dakota against Sioux Falls. After a loss in South Dakota (2-3), the team is ready for a rematch at the Urban Plains Center on Friday October 9, 2009. The puck will drop at 7:35 PM and it is sure to be an exciting game.

The Force will have home ice advantage and the support of local students. With Friday being the only game of the weekend for the team they are looking forward to a full house with College Night. Students will receive admission into the game for just $5 along with a valid student I.D. Come out and support the team in their second attempt at a win over South Dakota!

There is no doubt the team is off to a great start under the leadership of the Johnson brothers. Head Coach Steve Johnson and Associate Coach Chad Johnson are proving to be a winning combination. The team is also advised by Assistant Coach Mark Pivetz, who joins the bench from his previous position in the radio booth. The Fargo Force is excited to begin this season and has an excellent coaching staff to lead the way.

Fargo Force Home Opener with special reveal

Friday night, October 2, the Fargo Force will play their home opener against the Lincoln Stars. A new jersey will be revealed that is being referred to as the 3rd Jersey. It will contain a 3rd color that will be used in addition to the official colors of Blue and White.

This game will introduce new head coach Steve Johnson and newly named team captain Chase Grant. Grant will be signing autographs in the upper lobby after the game.

UP Center Parking Lot gets a facelift

The parking lot at the Urban Plains Center is getting a much needed facelift. Construction began this week to pave the parking lot in front of the hockey arena. Pavement will be completed on this area of parking before the Fargo Force home opener on October 2nd. The parking lot will include more than 500 parking spaces. Plans for adding 300 new parking spaces will also be implemented before the start of the season.
